Note: While you can access content for your handbook online anytime, the handbook itself is not stored online. So it’s important to export and save all handbook versions you create.   1. Why doesn’t Employee Handbook Creator have English and Spanish languages within the same tool?
    To lower your cost, we offer English and Spanish versions separately so you can subscribe to the version you need. (Instructions, explanations, navigation and the wizard are in English for both versions of Employee Handbook Creator online tool.) Save $50 if you subscribe to a kit with both versions.

  2. Why would I need a Spanish version of the handbook?
    California has a large Spanish-speaking workforce, and communicating your policies to employees is important. In some cases, such as anti-harassment policies, the failure to communicate the policy in the language that your employees speak may increase your risk of liability in the event of a lawsuit. An employee handbook gives you the best opportunity to clearly communicate your company policies and help protect yourself from unlawful termination suits.

  3. If I have an existing policy or want to add information to a policy in the online tool, will it translate it into Spanish?

  4. What if I need more than one handbook?
    If you would like to add a new handbook for a different company, you will need to buy another subscription.

  5. Can I post it to our intranet?

A: This service is exclusively for EHC subscribers. With EHC Plus, you’ll work with an employment law expert to navigate the EHC Wizard and create a customized company handbook tailored to your business needs. If you’re not already an EHC subscriber, you can purchase the online tool here.

PLEASE NOTE: This service is solely dedicated to a walkthrough of policies existing within the EHC framework. Our employment law experts are unable to review or comment on any policies that you have created separately and wish to add to your EHC handbook.

Q: I already purchased and created my handbook with EHC for the new year. Can I still use this service?

A: Yes! This service is available to all current EHC subscribers for an additional cost. By adding this service, you’ll work with one of our employment law experts to navigate the EHC Wizard process and create or revise your handbook.

Q: How do I schedule my meeting with an employment law expert? How long will the process take?

A: After submitting your information through the request form, our team will reach out to you to coordinate a date and time to meet with an employment law expert for your EHC Plus session. Although availability may be determined prior to your purchase, please note that payment must be completed before your EHC Plus session is reserved.

Each handbook creation process via EHC Plus will be unique so session times will vary. However, to ensure enough time for completion, you should allow up to three hours to meet with your employment law expert. This meeting will cover walking through the EHC Wizard, a high-level overview of your drafted handbook and addressing any remaining questions.

Please note: Our employment law experts can only answer questions related to the policies within EHC and cannot provide legal advice. Additionally, we are unable to rewrite or draft policy language on your behalf.

Q: Are any special system or technological requirements needed?

The EHC online tool is accessible from your desktop, laptop or tablet. However, for the best experience, we recommend you conduct your EHC Plus session from a desktop or laptop (EHC is PC/Mac compatible).

Your EHC Plus session will be conducted via Zoom or Teams, and you will receive a virtual invitation from your employment law expert when your meeting is scheduled. During your session, you will share your screen to ask questions and work through the EHC Wizard as you create your handbook.

Preparation for Your Session

To make the most of your EHC Plus session, we highly recommend completing our EHC Wizard Planning Guide in advance (this document will be sent to you prior to your session). This will help you and the employment law expert create your handbook more efficiently.
