COMPLIANCE ALERTS: (CalChamber's 2023 posters reflect these updates)
On January 1, 2023 – for San Francisco employers with 20+ employees – Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO) rate increases take effect; and on July 12, 2022, the Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance amendments took effect. These require an updated 3-poster set.
On October 1, 2022 – for San Francisco employers with 100+ employees – the new Public Health Emergency Leave Ordinance took effect and requires a posting as of that date.
- Note: If you previously purchased the single San Francisco Public Health Emergency Leave Notice Poster, you will only need to purchase a 3-poster set (vs. the 4-poster set) to replace the San Francisco Labor Law Notice Poster, the San Francisco Fair Chance Notice and the San Francisco Workplace Ordinances Poster.
On July 1, 2022, the San Francisco minimum wage increased to $16.99/hour and requires an updated posting for all San Francisco employers on that date.
- Note: If you previously purchased the 2-poster set, you will only need to replace the first San Francisco Labor Law Notice Poster, which reflects the updated minimum wage, as described above.
Poster Details:
The San Francisco Labor Law Notice Poster (26" x 26") contains official employment notices required by San Francisco's Minimum Wage, Paid Sick Leave, Nondiscrimination, and Consideration of Salary History Ordinances in the required languages. These notice and minimum wage requirements apply to all employers with employees, including part-time and temporary employees who perform work in San Francisco.
The San Francisco Fair Chance Notice (17.5" x 30.5") applies to employers located or doing business in San Francisco with 5 or more employees located anywhere.
The San Francisco Workplace Ordinances Poster (35" x 24") contains notices for the Family Friendly Workplace, the Health Care Security Ordinance, and the Paid Parental Leave Ordinances in the required languages. These notices apply to employers with 20 or more employees, whether or not all of them are located in San Francisco.
The San Francisco Public Health Emergency Leave Notice Poster (18.5" x 27") applies to employers with 100 or more employees, whether or not all of them are located in San Francisco.
Every employer must display the posters in a conspicuous place at the workplace or job site where any employee works, usually in a break room or similar common space.
Employers must post all notices in English, Spanish, Chinese and any other language spoken by at least five percent of the employees at the workplace or job site.
- The San Francisco Labor Law Notice Poster includes English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Russian and Filipino (Minimum Wage Notice); English, Spanish, Chinese and Filipino (Paid Sick Leave and Salary History Notices). The Nondiscrimination Notice is in English only.
- The San Francisco Fair Chance Notice, the San Francisco Workplace Ordinances Poster, and the San Francisco Public Health Emergency Leave Notice Poster all include the following languages: English, Spanish, Chinese and Filipino.
