Compliance Alert: Hayward's Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO) takes effect on January 1, 2021, and requires a posting.
Starting January 1, 2021, the City of Hayward’s minimum wage is $15.00/hour for employers with 26 or more employees, and $14.00/hour for employers with 25 or fewer employees.
Covered Employers/Employees
All employers must pay no less than the City of Hayward minimum wage to all employees who work at least two (2) hours per week within the geographic boundaries of the City of Hayward, for each hour worked in Hayward.

Employers who fail to comply with the City of Hayward MWO may be subject to administrative citations, penalties and civil actions.

Posting Specifics
Employers must post the minimum wage notice in the top three languages spoken in the city, and in a conspicuous place at any workplace or jobsite where any employee works.
