Compliance Alert: CalChamber's 2023 poster reflects Hayward's new minimum wage rates that take effect on January 1, 2023: $16.34/hour for employers with 26 or more employees, and $15.50/hour for employers with 25 or fewer employees. This requires an updated posting on that date.

Covered Employers/Employees

All employers must pay no less than the City of Hayward minimum wage to all employees who work at least two (2) hours per week within the geographic boundaries of the City of Hayward, for each hour worked in Hayward.

Required Notices

CalChamber’s 24" x 13" Hayward Minimum Wage poster contains the official City of Hayward Minimum Wage notice.

Employers who fail to comply with the City of Hayward MWO may be subject to administrative citations, penalties and civil actions.

Posting Specifics

Employers must post the minimum wage notice in the top three languages spoken in the city, and in a conspicuous place at any workplace or jobsite where any employee works.
