Seminar Description
Hiring and promoting employees as supervisors is a vital aspect of maintaining effective and efficient operations within your organization. Supervisors bring specialized knowledge to manage their units and act as the “eyes and ears” of what is happening with your workforce.
While supervisors provide organizations with invaluable support, their enhanced roles can also result in compliance concerns if they are not properly trained on managing a California workforce. Further, the new Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) reform, which provides relief to employers for wage and hour claims, strongly encourages employers to train their supervisors specifically on California wage and hour compliance issues they may encounter while supervising employees.
This seminar will guide supervisors through navigating the hiring process, effective employee onboarding practices, and addressing pay, scheduling, and other wage and hour issues. Participants will learn how to respond to leaves of absence and accommodation requests, ensure compliance with workplace safety laws, and handle employee performance issues and terminations with confidence. Additionally, supervisors will enhance their abilities with practical tips on communication, enforcing company policies, and more.
Enroll your supervisors so they can gain practical guidance on California's employment laws and best practices, including:
- Navigating the hiring process
- New employee onboarding
- Dealing with pay, scheduling, and other wage and hour issues
- Handling leaves of absence and accommodation requests
- Workplace safety compliance
- Managing employee performance and terminations
