Webinar Description
If you are currently covered by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) that went into effect in 2020, you are already aware of certain notice requirements for employee data.
But some big changes are coming. On January 1, 2023, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) fully takes effect, bringing employment-related information under the privacy rules.
For covered employers, this means new obligations concerning the use of employment-related information — specifically, the personal information of their employees, job applicants, and independent contractors.
In this 90-minute webinar, CalChamber's employment law experts will explain the expired exemption and what businesses need to consider as they prepare to comply with the new law. Topics will include:
- A brief background on the law and how we got here
- Requirements under the law and what they mean for your business
- Ways to prepare for compliance by January 1, 2023
- Enforcement and consequences of noncompliance
