Compliance Alert: CalChamber's 2019 poster includes increases to the minimum wage effective July 1, 2018.* The $13.25/hour rate applies to employers with 26 or more employees; $12.00/hour rate applies to employers with 25 or fewer employees.
All employers—regardless of size—with employees working in the City of Santa Monica are required to post the updated minimum wage notice with new rates.
Covered Employers/Employees
All employers, regardless of where they are located, with employees who perform at least two (2) hours of work in a particular week within the geographic boundaries of the City of Santa Monica.
Required Notices

- Santa Monica Minimum Wage notice (Updated for July 1, 2018)
- Santa Monica Paid Sick Leave notice (No change)
Every employer must post Santa Monica’s minimum wage and paid sick leave notices in a conspicuous place at any workplace or job site where any employee works.
Employers who fail to comply with the Santa Monica minimum wage and paid sick leave ordinances may be found guilty of a misdemeanor and may be subject to fines, administrative citations, and civil actions.

Posting Specifics
Employers must post this notice in English, Spanish and any language spoken by at least 5 percent of employees.
Next Required Update: July 1, 2019
*If you currently use the July 2018 poster from CalChamber, you can continue to use it until June 30, 2019. The minimum wage rate will increase on July 1, 2019, at which time a new poster will be required.
